I seriously doubt that my retirement, or my husband's for that mater, will resemble anything close to what we were taught retirement was supposed to be. Even people who had enough saved are seeing the retirement benefits cut by companies trying to maintain huge profit margins for their CEO's.

With this realization come that nagging question, "what sort of work can I do well into my 70's"?

I have already begun learning about earning online, because I seriously doubt I will be able to work outside of the home after 68. Taht being said, I will still have little to reinvest as I start getting disbursements from Social Security.

What rea some good areas for working retirees to invest in?

Once you're in retirement i would consider that irreplaceable capital. I guess you could consider all you money irreplaceable capital. Basically, I wouldn't invest it in anything volatile. That's just my opinion and everyone is different.
